8 Most Anticipated Releases: January – June

The hell that was 2016 is over and we can now move on to a fresh start! It’s a new year, with new books! I tend to find that most new releases are concentrated during the second half of the year but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still amazing releases during the first half! These are some of my most anticipated releases for the beginning of 2017!

• History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera – 01/17

Adam Silver’s MORE HAPPY THAN NOT was one of the best books of 2016 for me. I honestly cannot wait for this book although I’ll probably buy it in e-book first because I really want the American hardcover – but unfortunately due to my parents being homophobic I’ll have to wait for an opportunity to order it while they’re not around!

• A Conjuring of Light by V.E.Schwab – 02/21

V.E.Schwab is and forever will be one of my favourite authors. I loved A Darker Shade of Magic when I first read it back in, I want to say, 2014. I can’t wait for the end to this amazing trilogy to come out because I’m sure it’ll be as amazing as its predecessors!

• The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by Benjamin Alire Saenz – 03/07

Anyone who knows me well and is informed on my reading habits will know that ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE is my all time favourite contemporary novel. When I heard Benjamin Alire Saenz was releasing another novel I literally cried… My excitement for this book is indescribable…

• A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas – 02/05

Unfortunately, the cover to this book hasn’t been released yet – although I’m sure it’s going to be phenomenal! I was a bit hesitant about the title (the wings bit is a bit too funny for me) but I’m 100% sure that won’t affect the story’s content at all. After all the first two books were amazing, and so should this one!

• The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan – 02/05

Yet again, Rick Riordan and Sarah J Maas are releasing some of my most anticipated releases on the same day! I can’t decide if this is good or bad yet to be completely honest! I really enjoyed the first book in this series and I’m sure the second book is going to be just as amazing!

• Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare – 27/05

This cover is really pretty – even if the landscape formatting does make me the tiniest bit uncomfortable… I did actually really enjoy the first book in this series and did queue for over 5 hours to get it signed as a birthday present (my parents had to drive nearly two hours to get me there) so I hope that the rest of the series continues to be as amazing!

• Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab – 13/06

This is the second Schwab book on this list! I honestly just love her so much – THIS SAVAGE SONG was phenomenal and I’m pretty sure I’m going to love this book just as much! Also, I’m hoping this gets released a month before the US again because in the UK we never get the book first!

• The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee – 20/06

I’d never heard of this author or book until I was searching through the new releases on Goodreads and honestly, the quirky cover on this book had me curious. So when I clicked on it and read the synopsis to find it was about an LGBT MC in the 18th century I knew this was going to be a book I’d love (as long as the writing is as good as the synopsis sounds!)
